Freeze the installed rack configuration
Build the specification from the actual rack schedule: equipment order, occupied rack units, front projections, rear connectors and the heaviest service cables. Photograph both faces with the intended hardware installed. A nominal rack count does not describe connector depth, cable bend space or controls that extend beyond the mounting plane.
Record which devices must remain wired during transport and which are disconnected. The verified product listing establishes the slam-door case category, but every equipment dimension, rack position and operating restriction remains a buyer-controlled input that must appear on the drawing.
Test both doors in the real aisle
Map the space needed to release and park each door without blocking a technician, an adjacent rack or an escape route. Check the case facing in the truck, storage room and control position; a door concept that works in an open workshop may fail in a narrow production aisle.
With the rack powered down, rehearse access to rear connectors, patch labels and service fasteners. Keep cable loops away from closure points and show how slack is retained. Ventilation requirements must come from the installed equipment documentation, not from a generic promise by the case supplier.
Write an acceptance sequence
Compare bids using the same rack schedule, cable list, transport orientation and door-handling scenario. Require front and rear clearances, rail positions, accessory locations and unresolved assumptions to be marked on one revision-controlled drawing.
Acceptance should cover mounting, patching, closing both doors, movement to the intended position, reopening and service access. Any collision, unreadable label or cable pinch becomes a drawing correction before repeat production; unsupported claims about protection or capacity are excluded.
